Built on Family, Hard Work, and a Promise to Stand Behind the Customer.
JD & Sons Appliances is built on more than technical knowledge. It is built on a family name, decades of lessons, and the belief that customers should be able to trust the person working in their home or business.
It Started in His Father's Garage.
Jaime De La Torre grew up watching his father build an appliance business in California. His father worked in the industry for approximately 40 years. Like many lasting family businesses, it did not begin with a large showroom, a fleet of vehicles, or an expensive marketing campaign. It began in a garage.
Through hard work, local flyers, word of mouth, personal relationships, and a commitment to honoring his work, Jaime's father gradually built a loyal customer base and a respected appliance shop. It became the kind of business where customers were known by name. People did not simply call a company. They called someone they trusted.
That sense of personal responsibility became one of the most important lessons Jaime would carry forward.

One More Trade You Can Take Anywhere.
Before entering the appliance industry, Jaime had already learned several hands-on trades, including construction, framing, and concrete work. His father encouraged him to learn one more: appliance repair.
The reasoning was practical. Wherever people live, they depend on refrigerators, washers, dryers, freezers, and other appliances. When those machines fail, people need someone with the knowledge and patience to diagnose the problem. Appliance repair was not simply another job skill. It was a trade Jaime could take anywhere.

Old-School Values Had to Meet New Technology.
Appliances continued to change. Older mechanical machines were increasingly replaced by equipment using electronic controls, sensors, digital displays, control boards, communication systems, and more advanced refrigeration technology.
The lessons Jaime learned from his father remained important, but the technical side required continued education. Jaime expanded his knowledge in electrical systems, digital controls, modern appliance technology, refrigeration, technical diagnostics, manufacturer-specific systems, and changing appliance designs. His father provided the old-school foundation. Jaime added the modern technical knowledge needed to work with newer equipment.

Stand Behind the Work.
When Jaime's father experienced a stroke at approximately 55 years old, Jaime began approaching the family business with his own perspective while preserving its most important principles: honor the customer; honor the agreed warranty; return when something needs to be corrected; communicate honestly; take responsibility for the work; and build a name that means something.
For Jaime, a customer is not merely another transaction. The customer is the reason the business exists.

A New Chapter in Tennessee.
After relocating from California to Tennessee, Jaime began rebuilding from the ground up. In many ways, the process reflects how his father started decades earlier: working directly with customers, repairing appliances, refurbishing refrigerators, and building a reputation one relationship at a time.
This is not the beginning of Jaime's experience. It is the beginning of a new chapter in a new community. JD & Sons Appliances combines the lessons of the past with the technology and expectations of today.

The Vision for the Future.
Jaime's goal is to build more than a mobile repair service. He wants JD & Sons Appliances to grow into the kind of trusted local appliance shop his father created—a place where customers feel welcome, where the owner knows the community, and where the business is known for standing behind its work.
The long-term vision includes building a strong local customer base, opening a physical appliance shop, selling and servicing appliances, expanding refurbished inventory, supporting local homes and businesses, creating opportunities for his family, building a company the next generation can continue, and growing carefully without losing personal service.
The ambition is meaningful, but the process remains grounded. One customer. One appliance. One relationship at a time.
